Lately, I’ve been in a really creative rhythm—and not in a structured, sit-down-and-plan-it kind of way. More like… it just shows up, and I follow it.
One day I’m outside carving wood hearts, completely losing track of time. There’s something about working with my hands like that—it pulls me right into the moment. I’ll start with a simple piece of wood and before I know it, I’ve carved a heart and I’m engraving words into it that just feel right in the moment.
No overthinking. Just doing.
Other days, I’ve been making candles. Playing around with scents, seeing what feels grounding or calming. It’s honestly become one of those things I do because I enjoy it—not because it needs to turn into anything.
And then there’s writing… which, clearly, always finds its way in somewhere.
What’s been interesting is noticing how creativity doesn’t stick to one lane. It moves. It shifts. One day it’s hands-on and physical, the next it’s quiet and internal.
I used to think creativity had to look a certain way—or that I had to “be in the mood” or have the time set aside for it.
That hasn’t been the case at all.
Right now, it’s more about letting it be part of my everyday life. If I feel like carving something, I go carve. If I feel like making a candle, I do that. If I don’t feel like doing anything creative at all, I don’t force it.
There’s a lot more freedom in that than I expected.
So this is your reminder: creativity doesn’t have to be a whole production. It can just be something you drop into your day because it feels good.
No pressure. No expectations. Just… following what feels right in the moment.
